... to Our Healing Room, we are delighted to have you visit us, and if you feel drawn to invoke Grace through Archangel Raphael for beings or situations in need, please do so.  Just below you will see information about Raphael and guidelines to help you put forward a healing request.  Last one at the Altar, please blow out the candles.

 Meet Archangel Raphael

Of all the deities and angels, we wanted to invite Archangel Raphael to oversee our Altar because traditionally he was assigned the role of Healing on earth.

The meanings of the name Raphael are “God has healed”, “God heals”, “God, Please Heal”.  Raphael is found in Islam, Judaism and Christianity.  The Islamic word for Raphael is Israfil and the Hebrew word for doctor of medicine is Rophe.  More recent interpretations of Raphael are linked with the colours gold, yellow and emerald green.  Raphael has also been denoted as the angel of science and knowledge, prayer, love, joy, light as well as the guardian of humanity.


A bit more about angels in general…

Though the form of angels changes from culture to culture, almost every culture throughout the world has reports of angels. There are angels in Christian, Judaic and Islamic lore. Angels were reported in ancient Assyrian and Mesopotamian, Buddhism, Zoroastrianism and Taoism. Ancient Greeks called them horae, Vikings called them valkyries, in Persia they were fereshta, to the Hindus they were apsaras and in the African religion of the Yoruba, angels were called orisha.

Traditionally in Shamanism (which is the primordial spiritual path of all indigenous people) there are reports of ascending birdlike spirits. These half-bird/half-human spirits are called the bird people or the bird tribes.

 How to place names and situations on our Altar. 

  • Wash your hands as a gesture of purification.
  • Create a sanctified space by lighting a candle or some incense
  • Go inward and visualise how you see Archangel Raphael, calling his name inwardly or vocally
  • Type the name or situation in the space provided  (it should be brief)
  • See what you want as if it has already taken place.
  • Let yourself feel gratitude as if it has been granted. 
  • Give thanks to Archangel Raphael
  • Do one good deed for someone unconditionally.
